In case you spend more time in front of a computer screen or the screen of your iOS device, than the television screen, but still want to get your news fix, CNN has you covered.  Earlier today, the news giant announced the fact that they will be streaming their news 24 hours a day online at CNN.com, but also on iOS devices such as the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch.  Unfortunately, the streaming service won’t be available for everyone, as you have to have access to the channel through your cable provider already, in order to then access the stream. …

Verizon offers sweet BOGO deal for Droid 3, Droid X2, and Xperia Play

In the spirit of back-to-school shopping, Verizon Wireless is offering a nice promotion on a few high-end Android smartphones.  Essentially, if you purchase one of the participating devices at list price, then you can pick up another device absolutely free.  While we’re not sure how long Verizon will be running the Buy One Get One deal, so I would advise you to take advantage of the deal sooner, rather than later.  Some of the better devices on the list include the Motorola Droid 3, Motorola Droid X2, and the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play.  Unfortunately, the 4G LTE handsets on Verizon…

About a few weeks ago, a rumor regarding the upcoming Motorola Titanium leaked claiming the ruggedized Android 2.1 smartphone would launch on July 24 for $150 on a two year contract.  Today, Sprint officially announced that the pricing and availability are exactly as the rumor indicated.  The Titanium features a 3.1 inch touch screen, Android 2.1, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, 5MP rear facing camera, microSD card slot, 1820 mAh battery, and Direct Connect Push-to-Talk.  Probably the most notable feature about the Titanium is the fact that it meets Military Specification 810G, which ensures that it can withstand elements such as extreme…

Scammers Selling Google+ Invites on Ebay

Several enterprising scammers have been spotted selling Google+ invites on Ebay. The listings on the popular auction site offer the much sought after invites for nearly $30 each, according to several sites. According to Ebay’s Seller Central board, the site has suspended several sellers for doing so but I just checked and there are nearly 800 listings up-and some particularly greedy scammers have upped their prices. I saw several for $49, several for $85-$99 each and even one for $500,000!  Please don’t be foolish enough to bid on any of them. Yes Google+ is quite popular and Google’s insistence on…

GameTanium brings on-demand games to Android

When it comes to gaming on a smartphone, there are no shortage of options. There is an astonishingly large number of games currently available in the Android Market. Chances are unless you hear about certain Android games from a third party, you'll miss out on them. Mobile gaming also creates more impulse buys than other gaming platforms, leading to a large sum of money being spent in a short time. A company called Extent is addressing both of those issues with the launch of GameTanium for Android. GameTanium is an on-demand gaming service for Android. For $4.99 a month, gamers…

Sonos S3 details revealed by temporary Amazon product listing

The Sonos S3/Play:3 is a wireless speaker system in which you can stream music from a hard drive/music library, online Internet radio stations, and can be controlled by an Android or iOS device.  Additionally, the Sonos S3 boasts 3 digital amps, 1 tweeter, 2 mid range drivers and 1 bass radiator, all in a small compact design.  The wireless speaker system was previously seen through an FCC filing, but Sonos has been relatively quiet on details regarding the S3/Play:3, but fortunately, it looks like Amazon jumped the gun on this product and prematurely posted a product listing displaying the speaker…

Malware Can Hit You When You Least Expect It!

It’s important to always stay vigilant when it comes to protecting yourself from malware. No matter how protected you are it can sneak up on you. Case in point: Earlier today I was visiting a site I’ve visited many times before. The different this time is that the site had logged me out. That means I was presented with all the huge ads plastered all over the page. When logged in, registered users never see them. However I was in a hurry so I just scrolled down to the info I was looking for. Unfortunately as I was scrolling my…

HP TouchPad (32GB) price lowered a bit further with Amazon

Amazon (along with Best Buy) lowered the price for the HP TouchPad last week and it looks like they have dropped the price of the 32GB model just a bit further. As of last week, the price of the 32GB TouchPad dropped from $599.99 down to $579.99 and as of today those interested can make the purchase for $559.52. Basically, Amazon has cut another $20 from the price tag. And while we would normally say right after a price cut is a good time to buy, with two coming so quick, we may be tempted to wait just a bit…

Roku 2 RF remote spotted with FCC, release date tipped as coming soon

The Roku 2 was recently spotted in an FCC filing and while that generally means a release is coming sooner rather than later, we are still waiting on word of a release date from the company. But that being said, it looks like Zatz Not Funny has put together a bit of information on the set-top box itself, but also the revamped remote which is said to be an RF remote. Basically, at this point it looks like the Roku 2 will come available as the HD (3000X), the XD (3050X) and the XS (3100X). Otherwise, price points for the…

ViewSonic ViewPad 10Pro tablet makes an FCC appearance, shows off its dual-boot functionality

ViewSonic announced their dual-booting Viewpad 10Pro tablet back towards the end of May, and coming a bit more recently—it looks like the device has inched another step closer to a US release. Yup, the FCC filing. Of course, the FCC filing (just like the original announcement) does not offer anything in terms of a release date or timeframe. That aside though, the FCC filing did confirm that the ViewPad 10Pro was arriving with support for the AT&T bands and that it also has Wi-Fi. And while the AT&T bit was good to see, the Wi-Fi comes as expected at this…

Fujitsu tipped to release a Mango running Windows Phone 7 handset in August

Much of the Windows Phone news surrounding a Mango handset has been centered on Nokia as of late, however it looks like Fujitsu may have the first Mango running handset available for purchase. Of course, that being said, while technically available and for sale, this one is not something that everyone who is anywhere is going to be buying. In fact, the Fujitsu handset, which has been dubbed the IS12T is only heading to KDDI in Japan. Otherwise, the Fujitsu IS12T is said to be priced at 30,000 to 40,000 yet (roughly $380 to $505 US) and arriving as a…

New Facebook feature forms stronger relationships with news outlets

It's very easy to share links on Facebook. Posting links turns friends on to stories and events they wouldn't have known about otherwise. It also generates more page views for the article's source. A recent Forbes report says that Facebook is currently working with various news organizations to create "Facebook editions" for the social networks. Facebook editions function like typical news applications that you'll find on smartphones. The difference is that the Facebook editions will be created specifically for Facebook. By doing this, Facebook users are likely to spend more time on Facebook since a lot of their daily news…

HTC Status is currently available through AT&T for $49 on contract

Yesterday, the oft-rumored HTC Status officially launched on AT&T.  The first Facebook phone manufactured by HTC can be purchased for $49.99 on a two year agreement or $399 off contract.  Both prices are affordable and makes sense, in my opinion, as the Status is a mid-range Android smartphone appealing to those who need to be constantly connected to Facebook and quick messaging.  To recap the specs, the Status features a 2.6 inch touch screen display, Android 2.3, HTC Sense, 512MB of RAM, 800MHz processor, 5MP rear facing camera, VGA front facing camera, and a portrait style QWERTY keyboard. Via [AT&T]
