T-Mobile launches micro SIM cards for unlocked iPhone 4 owners

Previously, you could only use an iPhone on T-Mobile if it was an older model that supported the normal sized SIM card.  In order to use the most recent iPhone, the iPhone 4, T-Mobile customers needed to use a micro SIM card, which T-Mobile did not offer at the time.  Today, T-Mobile began selling the micro SIM card for use on any GSM (locked or unlocked) or iPhone 4 (unlocked) phone on T-Mobile’s network.  While the micro SIM will allow you to use your iPhone 4 on T-Mobile, we must warn you that you will only experience 2G EDGE speeds,…

Amazon posts accessories for the Droid Bionic, release imminent?

Well, we may not have official images of the newly revised Motorola Droid Bionic just yet, but Amazon recently posted two product pages for upcoming accessories, which pictured the Android superphone.  If you take a look at the image above, you’ll notice the Motorola Droid Bionic resting comfortably in a standard dock and wall charger.  Below, you will see the Motorola Droid Bionic in a car navigation dock.  One of the more interesting aspects of both images is the presence of a chrome ring surrounding the device, which in my opinion, looks pretty cool.  Unfortunately, Amazon does not say when…

RIM responds to the Android App Player leak, offers official statement telling everyone to "refrain"

Earlier this morning we mentioned the leaked Android App Player for the BlackBerry PlayBook, and since then, it looks like RIM has responded with an official statement. In short, they are saying its an older version that was inadvertently posted and that we should refrain from using it. And while we do believe their statement, the funny part here is that their “older” version is still running a more recent version of Android (2.3.3) then most actual Android devices are. Anyway, here is what RIM had to say on the matter… “An older version of the Android App Player beta…

The BlackBerry PlayBook makes friends with the U.S. government

The BlackBerry PlayBook is not making any waves with mainstream consumers. Even Windows 7 tablets are outselling the PlayBook. Even with all its woes, the United States government has taken a shine to it. The PlayBook is the first tablet to be certified by the U.S. government for use by government agencies. To its credit, the BlackBerry Playbook is seen by some as being one of the best tablets on the market. It's just hindered by RIM's inability to include crucial applications for the PlayBook in a timely manner. It also lacks the developer support that the iPad and Android…

Google+ users really enjoy their privacy

Before anyone started to use Google+, Google made one thing clear. Google+ was designed to change the way we share content on social networks. Android developers can now choose what devices to support

Google now allows Android developers to dictate what type of APK (Android Package) is distributed to device owners. Up until now, every APK was the same no matter what device downloaded it. Tablet owners would get the same APK as smartphone owners, high-end smartphones would get the same APK as low-end smartphones and so on. Now developers can upload multiple APKs for an application. This effectively helps to eliminate fragmentation on some level. Developers can now produce several APKs under a single listing in the Android Market. Each separate APK can be designed to cater to a specific type of…

It seems as if the BlackBerry PlayBook has just gotten a bit more exciting. Granted, the exciting is not quite ready for primetime, but it does give something to look forward to. The latest comes in the form of the long awaited email support, joking, it comes in the form of the Android App Player. The app, which will allow you to run Android and in turn Android apps has recently been leaked. And ironically enough, the Android App Player is doing two things that many Android devices are not—it is based off of Android 2.3.3. Taking that a step…

Verizon's Lowell McAdam believes government will approve AT&T and T-Mobile merger

Yesterday, we heard Senator Herb Kohl deliver his two cents on the merger between T-Mobile and AT&T.  As you may or may not recall, he was staunchly against the merger and several house important House Democrats agreed with his opinion.  However, Senator Lee saw the possible benefits of the merger and urged the Department of Justice and the FCC to carefully examine all the facts.  As you can imagine, T-Mobile and AT&T issued statements essentially disagreeing with Kohl and restating the benefits from the merger. Today, Lowell McAdam, Chief Operating Officer of Verizon Wireless, said there is a strong chance…

HP looking to make your "business more mobile" with the TouchPad tablet & Veer smartphone

While this latest email promotion from HP is not really offering anything all that special in terms of a deal, it is advertising the TouchPad tablet and Veer smartphone in a way that many suspected would happen. Judging from the title, it seems HP is making the push for these webOS devices in the business market. That said, the title read as follows; “HP TouchPad and Veer make business more mobile” And interestingly enough, that mention of business in the title was about all we saw aside from the first line of the email which read as follows; “Take care…

Movie Industry: Pirates are great supporters

Piracy is a crime, right? In an attempt to condemn piracy, several studies have been conducted in order to gauge the affect illegal downloads have on entertainment sales over the years. An anonymous source from the GfK Group, one of the largest marketing companies in the world, revealed in a recent study that internet pirates are almost the complete opposite of the “criminals” the entertainment industry claims them to be. The study states that piracy advocates tend to download movies as a test-drive before purchasing the real copy. The information also suggested that these very pirates are more likely to…
