According to an update coming from a Best Buy email, it looks like the HTC One X smartphone is going to be available wit AT&T beginning on May 6th. The update comes as a “pre-order update” email that those who ordered the One X with Best Buy have begun to receive. Based on the deals in the email, “the new release date is 05/06/2012.” Bottom line, assuming these details are accurate and will not be changing again — it looks like those users will have a little over a month of waiting ahead of them.

T-Mobile will be updating the Amaze 4G and Sensation 4G to Ice Cream Sandwich, decides to keep the date a secret for now

While some of the details remain a mystery, T-Mobile has updated the support pages for the HTC Amaze 4G and HTC Sensation 4G smartphones — and in turn they have confirmed that Android 4.0 is coming. According to the details for both handsets, HTC and T-Mobile are planning to release a software update however the dates “for this future update are TBD.” Bottom line, if you are sporting an Amaze 4G or Sensation 4G with T-Mobile, there is a bit of good news, you just have to wait a bit for your dessert to arrive.

Bell has a handful of Android devices that will be getting an update to Ice Cream Sandwich. And nicely done, it looks like those updates are expected to begin arriving in April with some to follow in May, June and July. Sony offers up an ICS beta ROM for those using an unlocked Xperia Play smartphone

Sony has offered up a little treat for those who happen to be rocking an unlocked Xperia Play smartphone — a beta ROM of Ice Cream Sandwich. Yup, if you happen to have an unlocked Xperia Play smartphone in hand, you can download and install Android 4.0 as of today. Of course, this is a beta ROM which means you may have some issues and things could potentially go wrong. Anyway, if you are still willing to move forward, Sony has a rather detailed walkthrough over on their official Developer World blog. And more to the point, given this is beta, Sony is looking towards you — the person willing to install, to get some feedback. For example, Sony is looking for answers to items to include what is your general impression, did the buttons work properly, did the touch pads work properly, were you experiencing any lagging and just in general — if anything is not working the way you would expect. Otherwise, Sony suggests that you should be an “advanced developer with extensive knowledge” and that you will need to be using an Xperia Play with the latest software release, which is 4.0.2.A.0.42.
