WSJ: Amazon to have tablet out by October

The rumored Amazon tablet that’s been waiting for an official announcement now has a firm rumored launch date. The Wall Street Journal is saying that the Android-powered Amazon tablet will be out sometime in October of this year. Joining the tablet will be the yearly update to the Kindle and a new touchscreen Kindle. Spotify makes it official, will be available for US users beginning tomorrow (July 14th)

Virgin Mobile is making changes to its Beyond Talk plans

Virgin Mobile announced rate plan changes for its Beyond Talk plans that will go into effect on July 20. Some customers will be seeing a slight increase in their monthly prices, while others will experience a slight decrease in their monthly bill. Virgin Mobile is changing prices to adhere to the growing smartphone market. Virgin Mobile even pointed out a Nielsen survey from May 2011 that stated 38 percent of mobile phone owners in the United States now own smartphones. Sony Ericsson Xperia Play coming to AT&T, will arrive in Stealth Blue and with Gingerbread

We saw the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play launch here in the US with Verizon Wireless back in May and as of today, it looks like AT&T will be launching their own version of the handset. Sony has formed another cozy partnership with AT&T. AT&T revealed that it will be the exclusive provider of mobile broadband internet service for Sony's upcoming S2 tablet. T-Mobile has announced their latest HSPA+ network roll-out plans. “Today, T-Mobile USA announced its doubling the speed of its 4G network in 56 additional markets.
