There are several really nice options for on-device podcast management on the iPhone right now. Some of them include the old favorite of Podcaster as well as Pocket Casts, Downcast, iCatcher (amongst many others) and the recently updated InstaCast. The BlackBerry PlayBook does not yet have a native email application, however we have some good news for those looking to sync their media with a Mac. It looks like RIM has rolled out an updated version of the BlackBerry Desktop Manager for the Mac, which brings the version up to 2.1 and includes support for PlayBook syncing. We still need something a bit more official from Samsung, or a carrier, however it looks like the Galaxy Tab 8.9 has inched one step closer to being released here in the US. And by that, we of course are referring to an FCC filing. It looks like Samsung’s upcoming Android smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S II is not going to have a problem in terms of distribution in Canada. Reports had it that three Canadian mobile carriers have announced that they will be offering the Samsung Galaxy S II. AT&T BlackBerry smartphone and PlayBook owners were initially prohibited from installing the BlackBerry Bridge application when the PlayBook was released. BlackBerry Bridge is just a way to access content that is stored on a BlackBerry smartphone such as email, BlackBerry Messenger and contacts on a PlayBook without any wires. Back in August of 2010, Google announced that it had purchased a company called Slide. Google acquired Slide because it wanted to ramp up its social offerings. We now know that one of Slide's projects is an Android and iOS photo application called Pool Party. There have been some rumors of a down-specced Samsung smartphone going around, and now it looks like those rumors have been true. Samsung is now offering the Samsung Galaxy Z in Sweden. The phone is fairly similar to the Galaxy S II, but with slightly downgraded specs.
