The HTC Omega is reportedly the successor to the HTC 7 Mozart. Unfortunately, details regarding pricing and availability have not yet been officially announced or even leaked. While we may not know the exact launch date of the upcoming LG Thrill 4G, we do know the exact pricing of the 3D glasses-free smartphone. On a two year contract with AT&T, the LG Thrill 4G will cost $99, which in my opinion, is a solid and affordable price. The last time we heard about the fake Apple stores in Kunming, Chinese investigators were looking into the legitimacy of the stores. The investigations were meant to determine if the stores were authorized to sell Apple products in addition to checking out their purchasing channels. Qualcomm is the maker of all those Snapdragon processors that seem to be in nearly all modern smartphones these days. AT&T recently announced some news that is sure to make their Android smartphone owners very happy. As of now, there are only two devices on AT&T running Android 2.3—the Nexus S and the HTC Status. Sprint announced a few new phones this morning. These phones are unlike the wave of smartphones that are being revealed every week. These new phones will take advantage of an upcoming service called Sprint Direct Connect. Direct Connect is a push-to-talk service that will be three times the size (2.7 million square miles) of Sprint's current push-to-talk coverage area. It will be available in the fall. Netflix recently rolled out an update in terms of their Android app last week and while that update brought support for quite a few more devices officially, it also brought support for most Honeycomb running tablets, on an unofficial basis. Late last week we began to see some reports from those who pre-ordered which suggested that the Verizon branded 4G LTE Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet was going to begin shipping on July 26th. While executives may call it a streamlining, 2000 RIM employees will check in today to find they’ve been streamlined right out of a job. The move comes as part of a plan aimed at optimizing costs for the company after a disappointing earnings call in June. Last week, the Android App Player for the BlackBerry PlayBook was accidentally released by RIM. The Android App Player allows the PlayBook to open certain Android Apps that weren't designed to work on other operating systems.
