T-Mobile’s expected version of the Samsung Galaxy S II is the Samsung Hercules, but we haven’t heard or seen too much about it. Fortunately, a sharp-eyed MobileSyrup writer snapped a picture of a large Android smartphone at an exclusive Samsung Mobile Concert VIP event. Sprint recently announced a new Samsung Android smartphone expected to launch on August 21st. Unfortunately, it is not the Galaxy S II, but it is a quality and capable mid-range Android smartphone. The folks at Vodafone UK have offered up their latest sneak peak video, which comes for the recently announced BlackBerry Torch 9860. The video is short and sweet coming in at just a little over a minute in length. RIM announced some new BlackBerry handsets just a few days back and following that we quickly learned that Rogers would be picking up three of the handsets. The models coming to Rogers include the Bold 9900 as well as the Torch 9810 and Torch 9860. Netflix launched their streaming service in Canada back in September of 2010 and seem to have been going steady ever since. It looks like those who are planning to purchase an Amazon Kindle will soon have another place to consider shopping at. Beginning Sunday August 7th, Office Max will have the Kindle in-stock and available for purchase. That being said, the details that Office Max provided were a bit light and did not mention which specific models they would have on hand. The fake Apple Stores that were discovered in China are not the only locations that set out to make money using Apple's trademarked style. Apple Insider reports that Apple has filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against dozens of defendants in the United States. Since the contents of the lawsuit are currently sealed, a lot of the details are unknown. Ironically enough, one of the places that is targeted by the lawsuit, Apple Story, was captured in a photograph and posted on Birdabroad's blog. Sharp is going to launch a new tablet in the Japanese market later this month and it is going to feature a 7 inch 1024 x 600 touch screen display, dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 1GHz processor, and run Android 3.2 out of the box. Previously AT&T has warned jailbreakers that those who use tethering without paying for it will soon have to change their plans or stop tethering. It looks like AT&T is starting to take action by revoking the unlimited tethering option from some who use apps like MyWi for free tethering. The cut off date for using MyWi without being downgraded seems to August 11. If you continue to use tethering after that day, AT&T will take away the grandfathered unlimited data plan (if you have one), and bring you down to the $45 a month 4GB tethering plan. If you’ve been waiting for another iPhone 5 rumor, your short wait is over. AT&T has confirmed that there was a major service outage in the NYC area. Users were unable to make or receive calls, text, or access the internet, Smartphone users however still had texting. The company blames the outage on a “software update” and could not say when service will be restored. Users trying to make calls got a dial tone and incoming calls went straight to voice mail. Service was restored after about 12 hours. AT&T users have been vocal in their outrage but it’s not clear if the company plans to offer any compensation for the outage.
