Fosters, a North Carolina based restaurant, is being smacked with a lawsuit from Broadcast Music Incorporated for $30,450 with an additional $10,700 in legal fees for playing four unlicensed songs. BMI cited its propensity to “protect songwriters” for the legal actions taken. BMI went on to state that they had taken numerous measures to collect money from the restaurant in the past but to no avail. Google's hopeful acquisition of Motorola Mobility now lies in the hands of regulators who have to decide whether or not this deal is too massive to be approved. Google is going to spend $12.5 billion for Motorola Mobility, but promised to give Motorola $2.5 billion should the deal not go through. The buyout was originally expected to be complete by early 2012 at the latest. That data has been pushed back about a year. HTC’s internal codename for its upcoming AT&T tablet is Puccini, but that doesn’t mean it is going to launch with that name. A new study conducted by Nielsen has shown that when it comes to Android smartphones, users spend way more time with apps than the actual web browser. After numerous HP TouchPad price drops, less than stellar reviews and a report that Best Buy wanted HP to take back their poorly selling tablet, HP has decided to wash its hands of webOS. It looks like the white BlackBerry Torch 9810 has arrived in Canada. The handset has come available with both Telus and Rogers and the price matches that found on the black Torch 9810. New AT&T customers will soon find themselves unable to take part in the carrier's $10 a month for 1000 text messaging plan. Starting on August 21, that plan will be going away. Those who already use this rate plan will see it grandfathered when the big day comes. T-Mobile has teamed with Family Dollar to offer a new pre-paid device for a very low price. The phone in question is the LG GS170.
