It appears that too much of a good thing can quickly turn sour. When T-Mobile revealed its new Value plans, the carrier allowed customers to decide whether or not they wanted to include a data plan with their service. T-Mobile is now changing its tune by requiring all smartphones to have some kind of data plan. Apple’s “hobby” set-top box has quietly been updated to add a much needed feature. If you update your Apple TV to software version 4.3 you’ll find that you’ll be able to stream TV shows that you purchased through the iTunes store. The Apple TV update also lets users purchase TV shows from the Apple TV instead of just renting them. First HTC denied Gingerbread on the HTC Desire, then decided it would be possible with a few sacrifices, retracted their previous statement, and gave a possible time frame. Today, we now know that HTC made good on their word as they are now allowing HTC Desire owners in certain markets download the Gingerbread update as a ROM from their developer website. Verizon and American Express has a new way for Verizon customers to pay for items online using their phones and tablets. This new program, which is powered by Serve, won't replace NFC-based payments. This program is more of an alternative to buying things online with a credit card. Instead of entering credit card information on an online store, Verizon customers will only have to input their phone number and a pin number.
