Section: Audio, Communications, Smartphones, Mobile, Web, Online Music/Video, Google According to the latest in the Android rumor mill, and this rather believable screenshot—Google is going to add Music sync in Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Sadly though the details are fairly light otherwise and we remain skeptical as to whether or not this will happen. That said, we are hopeful as a music sync service tied to your Gmail account login would certainly make things much easier for those looking to keep their Android device up to date with the latest in music. Or at least it sounds like it would make things easier. Anyway, time will tell just how accurate this one plays out to be. We’ve previously learned that U.S. Cellular is offering it on a buy-one-take-one promo and Sprint cut its own price to $299 on contract. Now, the latest to offer the Samsung Galaxy Tab at reduced price is Bell Canada. How much is the reduction? - a clear $100 price-off. That seems like a huge discount right? But wait, if you check out Best Buy Canada where the Bell Samsung Galaxy Tab is being offered, you’ll find out that the sale price is at $549.99 down from its initial price of $649.99. Still pricey, right? The good news is that the said price does not come with a required data plan because you can opt to enroll on select Bell month-to-month data plan instead. via [Mobile Syrup], product [Best Buy] Full Story » | Written by Arnold Zafra for Gadgetell. | Comment on this Article » Section: Communications, Cellphones, Cellular Providers, Smartphones, Mobile You still remember the Huawei X6 Android phone that we covered last December, right? You forgot about it? Well, then let me refresh your memory since we will probably seeing this nifty Android smartphone landing to the US market pretty soon as it just reached the FCC table for scrutiny. The Huawei Ideos X6 is a pretty powerful Android handset offering a 4.1-inch capacitive display, HSPA+ 14.4Mbps, Wi-Fi b/g/n, a-GPS, Google Apps, accelerometer, HD video recording, HD video playback and Dolby Mobile Surround Sound and HDMI output. In other words, this smartphone has all the potentials to become a pretty powerful multimedia phone. Now, documents that reached the FCC indicate that the Huawei X6 will support quad-band GSM/EDGE and AWS spectrum bands. This somewhat points to the possibility that the device is heading towards T-Mobile. Incidentally, T-Mobile is also carrying another Huawei-branded Android phone, the Comet. But of course, these are all speculations since both T-Mobile and Huawei would not tell us more whereabouts of the Huawei Ideos X6. via [Phonescoop], read [FCC] Full Story » | Written by Arnold Zafra for Gadgetell. | Comment on this Article » Section: Computers, Laptops It seems as if Dell has once again lowered the pricing on the Adamo notebook by another $100. Of course, a quick look back and we see a series of price cuts on the Adamo, so this latest comes with little surprise. The real surprising part here is that this latest drop comes less than a month since the last. If you remember back to the end of December, Dell cut $100 from the Adamo which brought it down to $899. Well, flash forward till today and that same notebook is now $799. All things considered this sounds like a rather decent deal considering the specs which include a 13.4 inch display, Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB RAM, 6-cell battery, 1.3 megapixel webcam and Windows 7 Home Premium. Of course, we cannot help but also mention that the Adamo is only 0.65 inches thick and weighs in at a relatively light 3.97 pounds. That said, now for the hard part, buy now or try and wait out another price drop, because what sounds good for $799 would only sound better for $699. What we have here are some photos and information about the upcoming BlackBerry Storm 3 which I would have to say has some pretty nice specs and features. But would these be enough to convince me to get another BlackBerry handset after letting go of my BlackBerry Bold 9700? Well, that remains to be seen. In the meantime here are some of the features to look forward to from the said new BlackBerry Storm 3. Here we go, the BlackBerry Storm 3 features a 1.2GHz processor, 3.7-inch 800x480 capacitive display, 5MP camera with HD video recording, 512MB of RAM, 8GB eMMC, 3G mobile hotspot, Bluetooth, and the optical trackpad that I sorely missed. The BlackBerry Storm 3 will be a Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and Tri-band UMTS/HSPA handset and will of course be running BlackBerry OS 6.1. So what do you think guys? Are those specs impressive enough to make you purchase the new BlackBerry Storm 3? If yes, then you’ll have to wait until September for its possible release. According to The Loop (who were informed by Apple), The Beatles have now sold more than 5 million songs and more than 1 million albums worldwide. According to a study conducted by ComputerWorld, Verizon Wireless is the carrier most likely to upgrade your handset, while HTC is the manufacturer most likely to upgrade your handset as well. Verizon Wireless upgraded 33.3% of eligible devices in the last half of 2010, while Sprint did 28.6%, T-Mobile upgraded 12.5%, and AT&T updated a dismal 0 devices out of a possible nine handsets. Now, HTC upgraded 50% of its devices to the newer version of Android in the same time frame, while Motorola upgraded 15.4%, and Samsung 11.1%. After a rumor broke out yesterday claiming Samsung was holding off on the Vibrant’s Android 2.2 update in order to make the upcoming Samsung Vibrant 4G look more attractive, it is not surprising to see Samsung in third place. Hopefully carriers and manufacturers alike will get their act together and start upgrading phones more frequently. The reason—she is walking and texting. Yup, she was walking while distracted and while it is sort of hard to make out exactly what she is doing, we are going to simply go with the story that was presented with the video. “This is a hilarious video of a girl falling into a fountain while texting at the Berkshire Mall!!” I guess the one good thing here, or at least the good thing for the star of this video, its not clear enough to make out who she is. The new version, 6.2 is headed to AT&T Android devices and will roll out to other networks soon. I use TeleNav frequently in my travels and can tell you this is significant upgrade. Major updates include multiple route suggestions, quick search and expanded speech recognition. They’ve also expanded our POI database to 22 million (for all customers). It’s clear they’ve upped the speed on the app big time. The original wasn’t slower, per se, but when you jump in a car to get somewhere (that you’re probably already late to), waiting for the app to load is pain. Now, in 6.2 it’s lightning fast. Faster loading, fast map drawing and faster panning around the map. Nice. Multiple routes is fantastic. I have a host of my own secret shortcuts. When using TeleNav and taking my secret routes, I have to wait for TeleNav to figure it out. Now, I can get 3 route options, I can compare them on the map, with milage and drive time to make my decision. Man, I love data. TeleNav also included some nifty voice commands which can be handy when your driving. Simple hit the voice button and ask about the weather and the software comes up with current and five day forecast. That could be handy. And rounding out my favorite changes are the commute alert. Users can set and receive traffic alerts about their daily commute at pre-selected times. Again, if driving is your thing, this can be helpful. TeleNav refused to say when the iPhone update to include these features is coming. When pressed, all they would say is the iPhone is on its own design cycle.
