The event where the Pilot Program was announced was just two days ago, and we’e already seeing a few people who have received their notebooks. Earlier today, Ben Kessler, Communications Director of SeatGeek, woke up to find a Cr-48 on his doorstep. Kessler filled out the Pilot Program to get the Cr-48. It seems reasonable, then, that others who filled out the form on the first day should start receiving their notebooks soon. That is, they should start receiving them if they were chosen to get one. Given that Google has a limited quantity of the Cr-48, it’d be best to get your entry in if you haven’t already. If you did fill out a form, it seems you can sit and wait for Google to deem you worthy. I know I’ve been keeping an eye out for FedEx all day on the chance that Google has decided to send one my way. And well, it turns out that the limit is indeed correct and has been confirmed by Microsoft. Bottom line, Windows Phone 7 handsets will be limited to running no more than 15 apps that are push notification capable at any given time. Though, to clarify that a little bit, that is 15 third party apps. And before anyone gets super upset with this limit, first, 15 apps is probably above what most regular users are going to need and second, it is possible that could change in the future if the need was determined by Microsoft. Of course, that is not for every song. To begin with, this is (at least for now) only available in the US. Otherwise, the song will need to be 2 minutes and 30 seconds or longer in order to get a 90 second preview. And as you have likely guessed, if the song is under 2:30 the preview will remain at the original 30 second length. With that, I guess you can now sample longer which should in theory help you make better purchases. I will let you in on a secret—despite having purchased thousands of songs using iTunes—I have never once used the preview a song functionality. First we learned that he was on Vonage and had a number where customers could call in and now it is Google Voice. Yup, it seems Santa is using Google Voice and his number is 855-34-Santa. Or for those who prefer to dial without the letters, that number is 855-347-2682.That number can be used in order for the kids to call in and leave a message with their wish list, and parents can also visit the www.sendacallfromsanta.com website and arrange for a personalized call from Santa. The stat is coming by way of Andy Rubin, who took to Twitter to announce the news. “There are over 300,000 Android phones activated each day.” And while 300,000 seems like a fairly impressive number in its own right, that is up from 200,000 per day back in August.
