Vizio has been very quite on revealing details about its upcoming smartphone and tablet. The last time we heard anything official about either of the devices was during CES 2011 in January. This Android-packing device with the 8-inch screen is believed to become a bargain (yet reliable) tablet on the market. The LG G-Slate tablet may not be the most popular (or talked about) tablet on the market right now and while that may not be the best of news for T-Mobile—it could benefit those who were considering a purchase. It seems T-Mobile has just cut a good chunk off the price, which now sits at $399.99. U.S. Cellular is attempting to keep up with some of the larger cellular networks in the United States by offering competing devices. Starting this year, U.S. Cellular will release seven new Android smartphones including one that takes advantage of U.S. Cellular's new 4G LTE network. The LTE network is scheduled for activation in November. All seven of the Android phones will ship with Android 2.3 pre-installed. US Cellular had told us that this release was coming so while this comes with less surprise, it does come as a nice confirmation. That aside though, the LG Genesis is now listed on the US Cellular website and is available for purchase. In terms of price, expect to pay $149.99 which comes AFTER a $100 mail-in-rebate and along with a two-year agreement. Text messaging fees can be very inconvenient for consumers. It's difficult for a person to determine how many texts they will send and receive in a given month. The remedy to this problem usually involves choosing an unlimited texting plan just to avoid the hassle of overage fees. With the announcement of iMessage in iOS 5 and the already extensive usage of BlackBerry Messenger, it's Google's turn to introduce a texting alternative for Android users. Coming about a week after the iOS release, Rovio Mobile has rolled out the Carnival update for Android. Bottom line, those playing Angry Birds Rio on Android now have another 15 levels to conquer. Even with all the great new features of Windows Phone Mango, Microsoft’s mobile OS still lacks something very important: apps. Previously Microsoft has tried to make it easy for iOS developers to port their apps over to Windows Phone 7, and now its moving on to Android developers.
