The DROID PRO features a 3.1 inch touch screen display, 5MP camera, Android 2.2, 1GHz processor, 3G Mobile Hotspot, and can be used in over 200 countries. Now, Verizon Wireless is selling the Motorola DROID PRO for $179 on a new two year contract, and personally I think that’s a little bit too high for a phone with only 2GB on board storage and a 3.1 inch touch screen. Thankfully, potential customers can purchase the smartphone on Wirefly for the attractive price for $49 on a two year agreement. The reception for the Android version of the game was met with many user expectations. For the first version of the game, Rovio seems to have not met any problem at all. Issues just came out recently when Angry Birds for Android was updated to the current version. And so the company was left with no choice but to apologize to those who are having problems running the game on their Android phones. Why are these users having such problem? Because they are running different versions of the Android on their phones. Some Android phones are still running Android 1.6 while other phones have already updated to Froyo or Eclair. Rovio knows the performance issues when their game is played on Android phones running outdated versions of the OS. So, they are working doubly hard to resolve this issue and also to make the game available for other Android phones. But luck seems to be not going their way. Rovio still needs to do some testing of the game to ensure that it’s full potential is being tapped. So, if you are trying to install Angry Birds on your Android phone, be sure to check out the list of Android phones below which are still not supported by Angry Birds’ latest version. - Droid Eris

So what does this tell us? Simple, this illustrates how fragmented the Android platform is, and why Google needs to unify all Android phones using the OS. This is an urgent need. If Google wants to establish the Android as the leading OS in the market, it better do something about this fragmentation. How about looking at the iOS model? Those interested will be able to pick up the Jambox by way of the Jawbone website and with Apple (retail and online) as well as by way of ‘select’ Best Buy retail locations. The Jambox is priced at $199 and will pair up with your existing Bluetooth device. Bottom line, the Jambox is a portable speaker that should be nice for a range of activities including voice calls as well as listening to music. And given the previous quality of Jawbone headsets, we would expect this to be just as nice. The handsets are priced at $19.99 and $49.99, both of which assume a new two-year agreement. In addition, these are no-longer considered full on smartphones in terms of data and that means you can get either a 150MB data plan for $15 per month or the unlimited data plan for $29.99 per month. Plus, there is also the option to go with pay per use data which will set you back $1.99 per megabyte. Otherwise the standard rules apply in that you will need to choose a calling plan and then add on a messaging plan—should you feel the need. And somehow, while I am not certain I would ever pick one of these up for myself, they may be a nice fit for some given the price. The plan will be a step down from their current $40 per month unlimited offering, but should be nice for those with not quite as much need for data. The new plan, which is a Broadband2Go plan will include 1GB of data for $20 per month. And same as the other Broadband2Go plans, this will be contract free and on a month to month basis. As far as signing up for the plan, those interested will need to purchase a Virgin Mobile capable modem, we suggest the MiFi 2200 which sells for $149.99 though there is also a USB modem available for $79.99. Lastly, the plan is expected to be available by way of the Virgin Mobile website as well as Walmart. [Update] Turns out this is an exclusive offering with Walmart and at present the 1GB plan is not available on the Virgin Mobile website. That said, it is available as of now. The camera, which I’m sure will be a slight nuisance while sleeping, will be able to take pictures every sixty seconds and send them to monitors to an Arab Museum of Modern Art in Qatar. This artwork rightfully dubbed as the “The 3rd I,” will be a year long project with its main goal being focused around memory and experience. What worries me is that this type of technology (and thought process) could lead more reasonably minded teachers around the country placing cameras in their classrooms to keep a watchful eye over their classrooms, you know, like a big brother would. In any case, lets hope that this remains an artistic expression and nothing that could compromise the privacy of students. Price of a Canon Rebel T2I, $800 dollars. The Galaxy Tab is priced (contract-free) at $649.95 and Bell is offering two data plans for your choosing. The plans include the $20 per month option which gives 500MB of data or the $35 per month option which gives 5GB of data. Both plans include unlimited Wi-Fi access at any of the Bell hotspots (including Starbucks) and both come with a potential for overages. The overages for the 500MB plan are fairly reasonable, if you go over your 500MB you will automatically be moved up to the 5GB plan and pay $35. If you are on the 5GB plan and go over you will be charged 1.5 cents for each MB you go over. Otherwise, there is a one-time activation free of $35 and a tablet TV add-on for $10 a month which gives access to channels such as CBC News Network, The Weather Network and more. Though, we should warn that this particular model is contract free and therefor unlocked (good) and also much more expensive (bad). Expect to pay $449.99 for the handset, though the good news with that it is noted as shipping in 24 hours. In other words, you could have the Pre 2 in hand very shortly. As for the specs, this is a GSM model, so be prepared to have a SIM card on hand when the handset arrives. Otherwise, this is the Pre 2 we previously learned about which means webOS 2.0 along with a 3.1 inch (320 x 480) touchscreen display, 1GHz processor, 16GB internal storage, 1150 mAh battery, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and 3.5mm headphone jack. All things considered, $450 for an unlocked phone is the US market is not all that bad, sure it is much more expensive than it will be subsidized, but at least this way you will not have any carrier contracts to deal with.
