According to Mobility Insider, the expected prices of the RIM BlackBerry PlayBook should compete nicely with the Apple iPad and Samsung Galaxy Tab. Unfortunately, Mobility Insider did not reveal their source on the pricing information, but the 8GB model is expected to cost $399, the 16GB model for $499, and the 32GB model for $599.
Each model shares the same core capabilities, so the only main difference among models is the storage capabilities. Additionally, each model will be Wi-Fi only, but the option to tether a PlayBook to a BlackBerry smartphone will exist. As of now, the PlayBook isn’t expected to be available until mid-February of next year. As long as the pricing of the tablet stays relatively the same, RIM should have a strong contender on its hands.

While BlackBerry didn’t see it necessary to show a working model at the announcement party for the PlayBook, the Canadians have put their gadget into a music video by the Black Eyed Peas. The video features an augmented reality using the rear-facing camera combined with avatars of fellow band members.
The wide screen looks fantastic though it’s probably safe to assume the images are a work of computer insertion. The size looks good and the Peas don’t look like they are straining to hold the device, unlike legions of iPad owners.
Word is the PlayBook will sell for $399 according to rumors floating around today. With some help from the Black Eyed Peas, RIM might have some power to kick this tablet up the charts quickly.
Is a U2 version next (RIM was a sponsor of their last tour). Check the video below: 2:10, 3:15, and 3:50.
Given today is Thanksgiving here in the US the news is sort of on the slow side we have a recent College Humor video that we wanted to share with you. The video is called BlackBerry BBM/Text Roulette and they have a giant wheel with crazy messages and the contestants get to spin the wheel and then have to either text or BBM the message to a random person in their address book. The key is they then have to wait 5 minutes to reply back. But the good side, for their effort, they win a crisp $100 bill. Enjoy. And not to try and force you to watch the entire video or anything, but the last one was the funniest.
Gadgets can’t stay out of the kitchen especially on Thanksgiving. Even the turkey you’re throwing into the oven today probably has one on board gadget: the turkey timer. But can you trust it?
To answer this question, let’s take a quick look at what makes it work. For a part spec, we’ve got housing, spring, pop-up red plug and some special metal. Seems pretty simple and there are probably no one getting stressed out where they build these, like they do at the iPhone plant.
So how’s it work? The special metal is the key. The metal melts at exactly 181 degrees, which is what? Any guesses? Yes, it’s the temperature the turkey is done cooking.
The pop-up timer was invented by Tony Volk, the South Dakota–born manager of a turkey processing plant in Turlock, California who, in 1950s, devised the idea as a way to save turkeys from over (or under) cooking. Timer won’t tell you when the turkey is perfect, only when it is safe to eat.
So the metal melts freeing the plunger and the spring sends it skyward. Simple enough?

Back to the Future is one of those classic movies and the Delorean is such an iconic car. Personally I would love to have a Delorean sitting in my garage, but while I am not willing to purchase (or able to afford) a real Delorean I am thinking this may be a nice substitute. Well, not really, but it would be something anyway. The Delorean here is a 1:18 scale replica and has 500GB of storage space. The drive is selling for $250, which may be pricey in terms of storage but this comes with cool features such as working doors and hood which means you have something to play with. Plus, it ships with a 6 foot USB cable. And it is a Delorean, that alone is cool.
