Even though the Motorola Droid 2 has yet to be officially announced by Verizon, the giant US carrier decided to go ahead and launch the media campaign before launch. Today, Verizon ran a large, full page ad for the Droid Incredible by HTC, the Droid X by Motorola, and the ‘coming soon’ Droid 2 by Motorola in the Boston Globe. The rumored launch date for the Droid 2 still remains August 12, which is next Thursday. Another sign of the impending Droid 2 launch is the fact that Verizon is out of stock for the original Motorola Droid. It’s only a matter of days now before Verizon gets official with the Droid 2.

With all the hype surrounding the latest and greatest smartphones, it’s not a surprise we tend to lose sight of featurephones designed for the average user. Apparently Samsung recently launched a successor to the Samsung Flight in the form of the Samsung Flight II SGH-A927. As of now it is available exclusively through RadioShack, but should be sold in AT&T stores in the coming weeks.
The Samsung Flight II is a slider phone with a 3 inch touch screen, full QWERTY keyboard, HTML browser, 2MP camera, microSD memory card expansion, Bluetooth, and AT&T’s native mobile TV. From the picture above, the Flight II is a sleek and compact phone coming in a black color. Unfortunately, no word on pricing at this time, but if you are looking for a solid featurephone on AT&T, consider checking out your local RadioShack.
