Section: Communications, Cellphones, Cellular Providers, Smartphones, Web, Websites Last week, HTC began sending press invitations for an event to be held September 15 in London, in which we can assume a new phone (or two) will be announced. Latest rumors indicate HTC will introduce the Desire HD smartphone, also known as the HTC Ace. An image of the HTC Desire HD surfaced only nine days ago and now Amazon had a product page for the HTC Desire HD. Unfortunately, Amazon pulled the page just a short while ago but we still have a screen shot of the product page in which Amazon lists the device for 415 Euros. Amazon UK listed the HTC 99HLZ001-00 ACE/Desire HD for 415 Euros even though it hasn’t been officially announced yet. The HTC Desire HD is rumored to feature a 4.3 inch touch screen and run Android 2.2. I guess we will have to wait until September 15 to find out for sure what HTC is going to announce. According to screen shots of Verizon’s inventory, Big Red may be gearing to launch the Droid Pro shortly. In addition, the leaked screen shot confirms a World Edition Droid 2 and the enticing Motorola Tablet. If you look at the image above, the MOTA957 is the Motorola Droid Pro. So far, the specs of the Droid Pro are a 4 inch touch screen display, 1.3GHz processor, and global roaming. Expect the device to launch sometime in November, which is a good amount of time in between the Droid 2 launch and the Droid Pro, meaning Verizon may have another Android smartphone up its sleeve (Fascinate, anyone?). The Motorola Droid 2 will launch in another model known as the World Edition. The model number for this device is A956 and based on the inventory screen shot it looks like it will be available in white and black. As for the Motorola tablet device, based on the image below you can see that the model number is MOTMZ600. Unfortunately, we can’t confirm whether this is going to be the Motorola device launching with Android 3.0 or simply another tablet Verizon has planned for the future. Should any more rumors or images surface of any device, we’ll keep you updated. The Xperia X10 is priced at $149.99, which comes with a two-year agreement and thankfully without any mail-in-rebates. Otherwise, lets just hope that we learn something about Android 2.1 (or 2.2) before long. After all, the one disappointing part of this whole release is the fact that the X10 launched with Android 1.6, which is a shame because otherwise the X10 is a pretty solid Android offering.
