What’s with India taking these gadget strides as of late? Remember that $35 tablet that they announced not too long ago? Well, in addition to the awesomeness that is known as the “Indian tablet,” a new e-reader, created by India’s very own EC Media International, has just launched as well. The reader, dubbed the “Wink,” is currently available in two models (3GS and XTS) with two more models on the way. The e-reader will support fifteen languages and will offer over 200,000 books out of the box.
Relax, I’m getting to the specs! The Wink will be rolling with: a 6-inch (800 x 600) e-paper display, 2GB of internal memory (additional up to 16 GB via SD card), 802.11b/g WiFi, GPRS wireless connectivity, a battery life of 300 hours (good for 10,000 page turns or 10 hours of music playback), 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB 2.0 socket and support for a bunch of audio and text formats. Check out some of the specs in action.
“This is a book about a book that will change the way you read books.”
