Jostens creates Personal Yearbook Pages with help from Facebook, Flickr and you

Jostens has created “Personal Yearbook Pages” which allows students to tailor their yearbook to their memories.  The online application will allow students to create up to four pages, complete with images, for just $15.  Now yearbooks can be customized and filled with memories important to each student.  The pages will appear after the autograph pages in the yearbook.

"Personal Yearbook Pages reflects the convergence of technology, innovation and tradition and allows everyone to get involved in capturing all of their important memories from throughout the year," said Julie Fitzgerald, Director Yearbook Marketing, Jostens. "This fresh, high-tech service will definitely change the way all students participate in the traditional yearbook experience."

The idea is done rather well.  Users simply register and use the online app to build the pages.  Users can pull photos from Facebook and Flickr, as well as upload personal shots.  What’s more, users can share their pages with friends or allow friends to collaborate on pages for a real community project.

For just $15, the chance to build personal pages is pretty handy.  Having pages dedicated to just my life at school is pretty neat.

Unconfirmed: Motorola Droid 2 is hardly ever returned

Section: Communications, Cellphones, Cellular Providers, Smartphones

Motorola Droid 2

The Motorola Droid 2 is undoubedtly a solid device, but is it the best device Verizon Wireless has to offer?  According to one of BGR’s sources, the Motorola Droid 2 has the lowest smartphone return rate, meaning customers are purchasing the smartphone and are satisfied enough to keep it.  Of course, this could mean relatively few people are purchasing the Droid 2, therefore causing a low return rate, but I think this means many people are buying the phone and have very few complaints with it.

Additionally, the Droid 2 has “one of the lowest drop call rates” on the network, which is kudos for Motorola on a strong cell phone design.  It would be nice to see some official statistics on the return rate and drop call rate, but it is highly unlikely Verizon will publish such information.
