Section: Communications, Smartphones, Mobile While this is not the first time we are hearing about the BlackBerry Curve Touch, it looks like there are a few early look videos that have shown up recently. The Curve Touch is going to sport the model numbers of 9350 and 9370 and will be running BlackBerry OS 7. In terms of an official bit of information from RIM, that we are still waiting for however that recently leaked T-Mobile roadmap suggested it will be arriving at the end of August. And for those keeping track, these handsets were previously sporting the codename of Sedona for the 9350 and Apollo for the 9370. With that, check out the videos, which can be seen above and below… Via [CrackBerry] Full Story » | Written by Robert Nelson for Gadgetell. | Comment on this Article » Section: Communications, Cellphones, Cellular Providers, Mobile We often talk about the latest and greatest in terms of smartphones here at Gadgetell, however we also realize that for some—a basic flip phone is all they need or want. Of course, given that the usual disclaimer applies in that things can and likely will change by the time the Nexus 3 comes to market however here is what we can tell you at this point in time. The details are coming by way of the TechHog blog who are citing a “buddy that works in the Android Dev labs.” As for the details, that buddy provided an image of the front of the handset, which you can see above, however he also noted that the exterior will be changing. In other words, it sounds like this is early test hardware. Needless to say, we kind of like it, the handset almost looks like a small tablet. Well, a small tablet in the respect that there is no room for branding and no room for any buttons along the bottom - its basically just a display. As for the reasoning behind the lack of buttons—Honeycomb. Or at least the integration with Honeycomb, of which we will hope to see hit the public as Ice Cream Sandwich. And before we begin to worry, this is an early look. Otherwise, it was noted that the handset currently has a front facing camera (though it cannot be seen in the image) and that it is being tested with HSPA+ and CDMA (Sprint) networks. And given Sprint recently launched the Nexus S 4G and they partnered with Google on Google Voice—it seems like we could see Sprint launch the Nexus 3 with Google Voice and Google Wallet integration. Anyway, while this may not be the final hardware and the details are still rather sparse, we are fairly certain that Nexus fans will be happy to see that Google is at least working on the next model. The report is coming by way of ‘This is my next’ who are reporting that their sources have confirmed that Honeycomb will arrive as an over-the-air update beginning next week. In addition, this further confirms the news that came out of Google I/O which stated that Acer and Asus tablets would begin seeing 3.1 in early June. Of course, as we saw with the Honeycomb update on the Xoom, the Transformer users will see mostly stability improvements in terms of changes. But hey, sometimes those are more welcomed than new features. Either way, if you have an Eee Pad Transformer, be on the lookout for an update notification to arrive next week. Well, at least that is what we can assume based on these recently leaked T-Mobile documents. Of course, the users that have been experiencing the issues have believed them to be real all along. But at the same time, it is nice to see another (un)official acknowledgement from T-Mobile. That being said, according to the docs, customer service reps are “not to process exchanges for these issues (unless otherwise directed) because they are software related.” In other words, current G2x users seem stuck waiting for a software update because even if you get a new G2x—the issues are likely to return. The good part here is that (according to T-Mobile) this is only affecting a small percentage of users and that they are working to get a resolution in place.
