    Philip Morris International reported that its 1st quarter profit rose to $1.75 billion, or 90 cents per share, up from $1.52 billion, or 74 cents per share, a year earlier.

    Netflix (NASDAQ: NFLX) reported their quarterly earnings numbers after the closing bell last night. The company reported earnings per share of $0.59 compared to Wall Street estimates of $0.54. Year over year revenues were up a little over 25%. In the after hours last night, the stock was trading marginally higher.

    Financial stocks, which had moved up in early trading on upbeat results from Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS), closed lower yesterday, after a congressional panel probing the financial crisis subpoenaed credit rating agency Moody's Corp (NYSE: MCO). MCO had allegedly failed to comply with a request for information.
