The infamous Netflix price hike went to into effect earlier this month. Subscribers were not happy at all about Netflix splitting up its unlimited streaming and DVD renting services while charging full price for both. Many subscribers decided to cut back by only having an unlimited streaming option. Netflix was expecting this and was actually surprised people were angrier about this. It appears users decided to let their dollars do the talking as Netflix has cut its expected subscribers by a cool million. On Wednesday, YouTube started to roll out new video editing features. Videos that have been previously uploaded to YouTube (with some exceptions) are now capable of being edited to a greater degree than they were before. Instead of just adding annotations, subtitles and other similar text-based things, YouTube users can now tweak their video’s color intensity, stabilize shaky footage, trim videos and add complete visual effects. By now, you should see the new “Edit video” tab when you view your uploaded videos. I noticed on my account that the new video editing features did not appear until I disabled YouTube… Full Story » | Written by Jeremy Hill for . | Comment on this Article »

It turns out the 5.5 and 10.8-inch models of the Galapagos weren’t selling well, and Sharp has decided to axe them. Sharp also recently introduced a 7-inch Galapagos which will… Full Story » | Written by Jeremy Hill for . | Comment on this Article »

It never fails. Every few weeks my newsfeed is inundated with posts like this: “OMG! See who is stalking your Facebook profile! It really works!”. No matter how many warnings there are, plenty of people ignore them completely and click away. It’s a scam. Trust me. Click on it and all you’ll do is spam everyone on your friends list with posts like the one you clicked on, and you’ll get sent to a scam site. It’s possible you’ll get infected with malware but it’s more likely you’ll be told to fill out some surveys before you can go any… Full Story » | Written by Sue Walsh for . | Comment on this Article »

The Nook Color, Barnes and Noble's popular full color e-reader, is a great device. It's sleek, fast, has a gorgeous screen, and displays magazines and illustrated ebooks beautifully. The built in apps such as Crossword and Email are well done, and having its own app store is a plus (although most of the paid apps there are available for free in the Android Market), but did you know it makes an incredibly good Android tablet too? You can root it if you have a little time-there are multiple sets of instructions out there. B technology, dual modems and directional antennas. I've used Gogo's current service on several flights and I've always been impressed. It's fast and reliable, unlike some other free WiFi offerings. Greyhound's for example is so incredibly slow it may as well be dial-up!
