Amazon Kindle Fire will have exclusive DC graphic novels

Comic fans may have noticed something strage about the Kindle Fire announcement yesterday: it was shown in some images with an image of the DC classic Watchmen. Previously Watchmen hasn’t been available in a digital format, but it will be coming to the Amazon Fire along with some other DC graphic novels. Best Buy starts discounting the BlackBerry PlayBook

RIM may not be ready to permanently decrease the retail price of the BlackBerry PlayBook, but it has committed itself to offering special discounts that will last through the holiday season. We’ve started to see at least one store in the United States discount the PlayBook, and now Best Buy has started cutting prices. Staples will start selling $79 Kindle on October 8

Amazon has started shipping the new keyboard-less Kindle as of yesterday, but it’s only a matter of time before retail stores will start stocking them as well. We’ve received word that Staples will have the $79 Kindle in stock starting on October 8. Keep in mind this is the ad-supported Kindle and not the more expensive $109 model. Sprint will no longer allow customers to charge phones to their accounts

Sprint just won’t stop with the policy changes will they? Let’s go over some of them. Sprint raised its early termination fee, increased its upgrade fee, cancelled its Premier program and soon it will get rid of the Bill to Account option. You can expect this change to go into effect on October 5. On that day, Sprint customers won’t be allowed to purchase a phone by placing the amount on their monthly bill. Today more Android users than before will be able to use Skype video chat. For the first time Honeycomb tablet owners will be able to use their tablet’s for Skype video chat. Spotify’s Facebook integration is great, unless you don’t want all of your friends knowing that you listen to Nickelback or Justin Bieber. Thankfully Spotify is rolling out a new client that will have a private browsing mode. The news comes from Spotify CEO Daniel Ek’s Twitter account where he announced the news. Sprint expected to ditch the option for 1-year agreements as of October 2nd

While we have yet to see confirmation direct from the carrier, it looks like Sprint will soon be doing away with the option to get a one-year agreement. RIM has slashed the price of its struggling Playbook, perhaps in anticipation of the stiff competition it faces this upcoming holiday season with the release of the Kindle tablet and the upcoming release of a new Nook Color. Best Buy reduces hiring for upcoming holiday season

The United States economy has prompted Best Buy to cut back on the number of temporary employees it’s going to hire during the holiday season of 2011. According to Reuters, Best Buy hired 29,000 temporary workers last holiday season, but will only hire 15,000 this year. Microsoft and Samsung enter cross-licensing deal

Microsoft has signed a cross-licensing deal with another major Android phone manufacturer, Samsung. That means Samsung will now be paying Microsoft royalties for each Android phone and tablet that uses those patents. This deal makes Samsung the seventh manufacturer to enter a licensing deal with Microsoft in just the past three months.
