Fusion Garage’s Grid10 tablet was originally announced with a price tag of $499 with a release of September 15. After seeing the success of the TouchPad’s firesale Fusion Garage has decided to cut $200 from it’s original price tag, but Fusion Garage will push the release back a few weeks. AT&T decided to make its Windows Phone 7 Mango phones official today by announcing three Mango-equipped devices. The new devices will be available in the fourth quarter of 2011. Also, AT&T said it would be one of the first mobile carriers in the United States to start updating existing WP7 smartphones to Mango. Those updates will be coming to the HTC HD7S, HTC Surround, LG Quantum and Samsung Focus this fall. The new WP7 Mango phones are the Samsung Focus S, HTC Titan and Samsung Focus Flash. Now that HP isn’t interested in creating mobile devices that run on the webOS platform, it’s up to another manufacturer to swoop in and save webOS from an untimely demise. Samsung was thought to be a webOS savior at one point, but the company made it abundantly clear that it is not interested in webOS in the slightest. HTC on the other hand is singing a different tune. Amazon is reportedly trying to start a digital e-book service that users will subscribe to for an undisclosed amount every year according to The Wall Street Journal. The service is said to similar to Netflix. All of this appears to just be in the planning stages. Amazon is believed to be launching its first tablet sometime this year and access to thousands of books for a flat rate would certainly be an incentive to get people to use Amazon’s Kindle service. While we already know the release date for the Sony Tablet S is coming up, its the 16th of September, it looks like Best Buy is getting a jump on their display models. HSN has struck again. The Home Shopping Network has starting to sell and ship the Sony Tablet S before anyone else. That’s a pretty big honor to have, but there’s a big problem. HSN is asking for $599.95 (or four payments of $149.98) for the 16GB Sony Tablet S. For those playing along, Sony (and we’d assume most retailers) will sell the Tablet S for $499. It looks like the wait for the AT&T branded Acer Iconia Tab A501 tablet is quickly coming to an end. AT&T and Acer have officially confirmed the release date as September 18th. The tablet (in a 16GB model) will arrive with AT&T priced at $330 with a two-year agreement.
