Vodafone starts selling the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1

The ongoing legal tussle between Apple and Samsung seems not enough to stop Vodafone UK from selling the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. That’s right, Vodafone has started offering said Android tablet under its various mobile data plans. If you’re in the UK and you want to own this great device, you can have one by forking out £299 for the 32GB Galaxy Tab 10.1 with a 2-year £27 per month contract. If you do the math, that amounts to a total of £877. Might be too expensive to spend for a tablet but hey, it happens to be one of…

Google has finally managed to make it easy to use Google Music on your iOS device, by creating an HTML5 app. Now you can stream all your music from Google Music to your iPhone or iPod touch. To use the app all you ned to do is go to music.google.com in Mobile Safari. You’ll get a message asking you to increase the apps storage on your device, and then you’ll be able to search through all of your music from the web app. Scrolling is sluggish at first, but will smooth out after some time. Twitter users won't have to follow a brand to see a Promoted Tweet

Twitter currently displays Promoted Tweets on its website when you log in. Promoted Tweets are paid Tweets that brands create to attract more followers to its products or services. RIM to sponsor 50 Meetup events to help promote Android apps on the BlackBerry PlayBook

We have seen a few teasers in term of Android apps running on the BlackBerry PlayBook, most notably when the Android App Player leaked a few weeks back. Needless to say, the support for Android apps is coming to the PlayBook. In fact, the support has already been officially announced by RIM. Motorola has a Facebook phone too

The HTC Status introduced us in the United States to a phone with a dedicated button just for Facebook. At one point, it was rumored that AT&T would be pulling the device due to low sales, but that rumor was put to rest. There must be a market out there somewhere in the world for a Facebook phone because Motorola is working on one too. The Motorola EX225 has popped up on the Bluetooth Special Interest Group website. It has a 2.4-inch screen, and a full keyboard. Its screen is a little smaller than the Status, but the keyboard does…

CyanogenMod 7 for the HP TouchPad shown off [Video]

It looks like things may be heating up between the teams that are racing to get a working version of Android on the HP TouchPad. We recently heard from Team TouchDroid who were showing that they finally got the touchscreen drivers working and they were preparing to move onto work on other issues. And well, it seems the crew over at Cyanogen are a bit ahead of them and have everything working with the exception of the Wi-Fi. Plus, some speculation is beginning to surface suggesting that the TouchDroid crew only managed to get their touchscreen working as a result…

The details have yet to be officially confirmed by Sprint and instead have arrived by way of a leaked Sprint document. That being said, we have seen this type of leak in the past and have no reason to believe that it is not the real deal. Who can forget that classic scene from Back to the Future Part II when Marty puts on a pair of self-lacing Nike shoes? It's one of those things that was just plain cool to imagine, but we didn't actually think we'd be wearing them one day. I'm happy to say that there is a very good chance we will. HP offers TouchPad status update for those with a pending backorder

We have seen a few bits and pieces of TouchPad information coming from HP since they shut down production of the tablet. For example, they did state that a limited supply would be available in a few weeks. And on top of that, we have seen some rumors suggesting that HP would have somewhere in the ballpark of 100,000 to 200,000 units available towards the end of October. But shifting back away from the rumor side and it looks like HP has sent out a status update to those who had already ordered and were sitting with a pending backorder.…

Turntable.fm is coming to the iPhone

Turntable.fm soared in popularity over the summer. Part of its success was fueled by its invitation-only requirement which only made people salivate over it even more. Turntable.fm also did a great job of socializing music discovery and even adding a bit of a gaming element into it. However, the buzz around Turntable.fm has died down. Before it gets too overshadowed by the likes of Spotify, Turntable.fm is going to release an iPhone application. TechCrunch obtained images and details about the Turntable.fm application. It is planned to be released next week. Turntable.fm's co-founder Billy Chasen also commented on the TechCrunch article…

Orange France to release the Motorola FIRE, looks a lot like the Motorola Pro+

Motorola is set to launch a new smartphone in France via Orange - the new Motorola FIRE. What’s interesting about this phone is the fact that it closely resembles the previously announced Motorola Pro+ which should be available in the US soon. The only difference is that the Motorola FIRE will be sporting an AZERTY keyboard instead of QWERTY, simply because said keyboard is widely used in France. With that, the Motorola FIRE is obviously geared as a texting and messaging phone. The rest of the features of the Motorola FIRE are pretty much standard and are what you should…

Google will release Ice Cream Sandwich by November

We no longer need to make assumptions on when Google will release Ice Cream Sandwich. During an interview with SalesForce, Google executive chairman Eric Schmidt gave Ice Cream Sandwich a launch window of between October and November. "We have a new operating system, internally known as Ice Cream Sandwich for some reason, which is being released in October/November, which everyone's really excited about," Schmidt said. Google hasn't revealed much about Ice Cream Sandwich. It is meant to bind the operating systems on Android phones and tablets together. We just wish we knew exactly how that will be done. In August,…
