Motorola originally announced the Xoom 2 and Xoom 2 Media Edition tablets back at the beginning of the month. And well, at the time they were announced only for Europe. Since then we have seen confirmation that the tablets would be heading to France as well as Ireland and the UK. Otherwise, nothing official yet in terms of a US release, however we did see the Xoom 2 show up on a leaked Verizon roadmap. In the smartphone game, apps seem to be the real deciding factor. Or maybe more accurately, the total amount of apps seems to be the factor most people care about most. Me personally, I would say the quality of apps is equally important, but on the flip side of that—if the apps are not available they cannot be quality. With so many retailers opting to start Black Friday sales early, it’s a wonder why it’s still being called Black Friday at all. Take Wirefly for example with its “Black Friday Now” sale. Wirefly has discounted smartphones for Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile for a limited time. Wirefly also has a traditional Black Friday sale that goes into effect next week as well. Personally, I think Wirefly’s current deals are better than what it’s offering on Black Friday. If you happen to find yourself considering the purchase of a BlackBerry Playbook tablet, you should probably head over to Best Buy—either in-store or online. Yup, Best Buy has officially lowered the pricing on all three configurations of the BlackBerry tablet. The 16GB model has dropped from $499 down to $199 and the 32GB model has dropped from $599 down to $299. And curiously, the 64GB model has dropped in price from $699 down to $229.99.
