Full-metal upper mid-range Samsung Galaxy A7 embraces Lollipop

Samsung Galaxy A7While typically Samsung would look to upgrade the software on Galaxy phones in reverse order of their commercial launches, also favoring advanced hardware over seniority, a slew of older and/or lower-end Korea-made gadgets have recently scored Lollipop.

For instance, the modest 4.5-inch 960 x 540 pix res screen-sporting, Snapdragon 410-packing Galaxy A3 preceded both the 5-inch…

Apple Introducing a 12.9-Inch Tablet in the iPad Pro

new ipad

Moving through the past few decades there has been a persistent trend of mobile technology becoming smaller and smaller, so when tablets were first introduced many were skeptical about any kind of additional benefit.

If not for Steve Jobs and his ability to excite audiences around the world, perhaps the marketing hype would've been exactly that and things today might look different.

Tablets have since gone on to redefine the technological landscape, and if a recent report from MacRumors is to be believed, Apple Inc. is gearing up for the launch of its 12.9-inch iPad Pro, a project that was shelved for some time in 2014 while the tech giant redirected its energies.

There's a race brewing between the major players with Samsung and Microsoft unveiling plans for the Galaxy Note Pro and Surface Pro 3, respectively, but Apple might have them beat in the features department.

Features of the Forthcoming…

Surprisingly stylish Asus ZenPad 8 shows up in press-friendly form

Asus-ZenPad-8Unearthing an impending Android gadget while it scores FCC certification is all well and good, especially when there are also credible tipsters to confirm its identity and a few key specifications. But it's far more desirable to check out unreleased devices in the flesh, particularly in high-resolution marketing render style.

Let's all give a hand therefore to Ausdroid, the publication that somehow procured promotional…

HTC apparently has low-cost One E9+ alternative in the works

HTC One E9swWho's up for yet another boring HTC One-series entry? Crickets, huh? Well, to be fair, the WF5w, aka One E9sw (yes, really) doesn't look all that bad… if budget gear is your cup of tea. In fact, it'd probably make for a respectable mid-range Desire family member.

Only the Taiwanese device manufacturer's inexplicable branding policy deepens its silliness, with 720p screen…

Finally. A selfie-stick for non-narcissists/-psychopaths

Considering the overwhelming backlash and criticism of "selfie sticks", it takes a set of cojones to market a new product with such striking resemblance and overlapping use. Coachella made a point to ban selfie sticks and narcissists at their 2015 show. But "totems" and "stuffed animals" were also listed as prohibited, so I'm not sure how serious to take them.

Either way, IK Multimedia has provided a boost to dignity and overall utility with the latest…

Lenovo unveils trio of low-cost laptops, including $250 Chromebook rival

Lenovo Ideapad 100On the back of an inspired and not-so-costly Motorola purchase, Lenovo has quickly leapt to number three in the smartphone manufacturer ranks, only behind industry giants Samsung and Apple. But at the same time, the Chinese tech outfit remains the PC landscape's ruler, with HP breathing down its neck.

The architect of such beautiful, versatile and affordable laptops as the Flex 3, Lenovo can't let its guard down for a second, working continuously to strengthen an already robust computing roster. Enter the…

Sony Xperia Z3+ now available to pre-order from Clove UK

Xperia Z3 PlusTo the surprise of no one, Sony just went global with the previously Japan-limited Xperia Z4, rebranding the "new" flagship as Z3+ to better suit its marginal upgrades. What the Asian device manufacturer "forgot" to tackle were the familiar 5.2 incher's specific targeted markets, ETAs and price tags.

At least on British shores, though, you can be assured the Xperia Z3…

8 waterproof gadgets for your summer pool parties

Memorial Day was this past weekend so as far as I'm concerned it's officially summer, especially since my friend's pool finally opened up. Thus, I'm gathering up my swimsuits from the basement and investing in a couple $1 beach towels (Ninja Turtles themed obviously). In fact, I already invited myself over this weekend for a pool party/BBQ in celebration of summer's long-awaited arrival. But, what's a good pool party without beats to keep your party going and tech accessories to keep your existing gadgets safe?

So, to help you turn your pool party into a pool rager, I've assembled 8 waterproof gadgets to cover all your bases.

LG G4 goes on sale at T-Mobile with free 128 GB microSD card

LG G4 brownCan LG make its newest flagship Android phone even more desirable? Apparently, yes, with a little help from America's leading "Uncarrier." In a bid to eclipse both Sprint's uber-attractive Lease offers and Best Buy's incredible gift card promos, T-Mobile just announced their take on the G4 will sell with on-the-house 128 GB memory cards.

That's a cool $100 or so value, although if we're…
