SXSW 2015: Future of wearables, more than you think


I was a little bummed out about missing a wearables session (Emperor's New Wearables) at SXSW early Friday afternoon. I really wanted to get in on that. But I did get the chance to sit in on a quick (15-minute quick) session about the science and art of genetic engineering. Now, when most people hear "genetic engineering" they may be likely to focus mostly on the "genetic" part. There's a lot of interest, fear, and confusion when it comes to GMOs and the whole food industry of it all – we're not getting into that.

This speaker, Josiah Zayner, Ph.D, focused more (arguably) on the engineering aspect. Makes sense, considering he's a bioengineer at NASA. But even…
