TechnologyTell Review: LuguLake 4200mAh Qi battery pack and more

TechnologyTell Review: LuguLake 4200mAh Qi battery pack

With so many battery packs out there in various shapes, colors, and capacities, there’s almost no end to the choices available. But, on the upside, it makes for a greater range of personalization. It’s easier than ever to accessorize with a certain look that you want to portray.

So if you happen to be a huge fan of Apple’s design and looks, this one battery pack in particular may catch your eye.

Design

The LuguLake 4200mAh Qi battery pack sports an overall look that is very complimentary to Apple devices. A shade of white underneath a clear resin coating tops a smooth aluminum frame with beveled edges. Anyone giving it the slightest of glances could easily mistake it for a smartphone, even though it’s a touch thicker than most of the latest ones.

Battery. Cable. Done.

I dig the shape, and I love the precise machining of the aluminum. And considering that this battery pack is Qi-enabled for wireless device charging, the resin top is a smart choice.

Polycarbonate, a favorite material for cases and external batteries, tends to collect scratches over time. The resin will withstand the kind of wear and tear of having devices set down on it. The LuguLake 4200mAh battery pack should stay looking good for quite some time. Just don’t drop it.

This LuguLake battery features only a single USB output port for wired charging. Although it doesn’t affect performance, both the standard USB port and Micro USB (input charge) are about 3mm too shallow. It makes all cables stick out – including the one that comes with it – appearing to be only partially inserted. Also, the USB plugs will angle down slightly when connected. Well, at least the one I have here does.

March 2 is when Sony will out the ‘slimmer, lighter, brighter’ Xperia Z4 Tablet

Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet

The jig is up, Sony, and we know full well what’s up your sleeve for next week’s Mobile World Congress. The Xperia M4 Aqua is an open book, and the Xperia Z4 Tablet is no big puzzle either. Alas, the Z4 smartphone will most likely stay on the sidelines a couple more months, hopefully to score enough upgrades to clearly set itself apart from the Z3.

BlackBerry Classic goes on sale at Verizon, including in Non Camera variant

BlackBerry Classic Non CameraSlowly but steadily, BlackBerry’s US business is picking up, with sales of unlocked Passports and Classics reportedly breaking recent records, and carriers lined up to get a piece of the on-contract action. An ode & a review of “Solo Stick” by the Millennial who won’t get off your lawn

solobluenew3__49703.1421899336.560.400Ah, the #selfie. If there’s a more culturally relevant Millennial invention, I have yet to find it. The selfie changed the game, down to the very fundamentals of humanity.

CES 2015 was the land of bifurcated tech gurus. One half patrolled the show floor with a selfie stick taking awesome, wide-angle shots of themselves in front of the newest and coolest products, and the other half pointed and called them stupid while they begged passersby to take a photo of them standing by a drone. #WhosStupidNow

I recently became a proud member of the Selfie Stick community, having fallen into possession of a Solo Stick. This particular model is a Bluetooth connected stick that grips the phone with an easy-to-use clamp. You simply turn it on, slide in your phone, and start taking photos….

Galaxy S5 miniIt should probably come as no shock Samsung has its sights set on a few mid-range Galaxies in addition to flagship smartphones for Lollipop bumps over the next months. It’s also no surprise the Galaxy S5 mini is among the non-high-enders targeted for 5.0 goodie packs.
