Samsung expected to optimize Galaxy S6's TouchWiz UI at Nexus 6 levels

Samsung-Galaxy-S6An "edgy", secondary side screen-sporting variant. A complete design overhaul, starting with build materials. The customary performance boosts and incremental upgrades. Major camera improvements.

Those are only a few of the changes Samsung is tipped to be cooking up for the "next big thing", likely to be dubbed Galaxy S6, but known on the inside as "Project Zero". Zero for new…

Panasonic goes after retailers with the world's first all-in-one mobile POS tablet

panasonic-fzr1Panasonic has stopped catering to the masses with "normal", conventional, consumer-oriented gadgets a while ago, instead targeting the niches no one else seems to care about. Outdoorsy, indestructible gizmo lovers, business professionals and now, retailers.

That's right, Panasonic isn't going to sell the new Toughpad FZ-R1 through retailers, but to retailers. As the name suggests, the 7-inch slate can take a beating and is water…

windows-10-phoneSoftware fragmentation and update lag are hardly the biggest predicaments of the Windows Phone ecosystem, but to make sure they'll avoid Google's fate, Microsoft is currently taking every precaution possible.

Including, sources say, pulling the plug on the oft-rumored GDR2 build of version 8.1 to dodge a potential schedule congestion for the rest of 2015. Remember, the…

LG G3 T-MobileWhen LG rolled out the beefy, slim-bezeled, ultra-fashionable G3 in June 2014 and priced it at a reasonable $600 contract-free, we felt pretty safe major discounts wouldn't be in store very soon. Yet here we are, merely half a year into the 5.5 incher's hopefully lengthy and healthy life, and we're rapidly closing in on a ridiculously low $350 tag.

Available on…

Amazon Germany slaps LG G Flex 2 with surprisingly sensible price tag

LG G Flex 2 priceWhile the aim of the experimental first-generation LG G Flex probably wasn't to sell like hotcakes, the just-unveiled sequel seems to really want to make curved smartphones mainstream. Not only is the G Flex 2 more easily pocketable, at 5.5 inches, beautifully designed and robust, plus extremely powerful, courtesy of an octa-core Snapdragon 810 chip, but it may well roll out at a reasonable price point.

We wouldn't go so far as to call…

Google and Motorola are currently learning that particular lesson the hard way, fumbling with Android 5.0 Lollipop stability and updates just as everyone expected them to make history.
