It's hard to escape portable Bluetooth speakers these days. They're everywhere, and the competition continues with ferocity. It's almost getting to that point where they all sort of just blend together. But every once in awhile, one catches your attention and singles itself out. In the case of the Inateck BTSP-10 Bluetooth speaker, it was the artsy design, with a bright logo against a field of blue, that piqued my curiosity. Design & Connectivity Boxy-looking portable speakers are fairly common, but I like how the Inateck BTSP-10 has a little bit of excitement going on. Hexagons. Why not? I find them playful and creative. It beats plain and boring any day. The angled theme extends beyond topical patterns to the volume buttons and even the rubber feet.  Everything from a compact box The Inateck BTSP-10 speaker is lightweight yet feels sturdy for the size. I wouldn't really say that it's rugged, although it's certainly tougher than average. The matte black exterior is that smooth kind of plastic that keep fingerprints muted. The downside of this material is that you need a cloth to effectively wipe away smudges. Even so, insufficient rubbing pressure will only smear things around. I find it preferable to shiny plastic. There isn't a whole lot going on in terms of control and ports. The Bluetooth-connection button on the top doubles as play/pause for music. There are no track controls, only dedicated buttons for volume. The right side of the Inateck BTSP-10 speaker has a jack for 3.5mm audio cable, a power switch (which glows while charging), and a Micro USB input port. I like how the Inateck BTSP-10 provides boop notifications for wireless connectivity, tones when pressing play/pause, and beeps when the speaker hits max volume. Aside from that, the only other type of indicator is the power LED light cleverly tucked inside a half-hexagon on the front. Thus far, the Inateck BTSP-10 speaker is standard fare as far as speakers go. Audio Quality The Inateck BTSP-10 can output some good power and volume. If your music has the right beat and the volumes are cranked up, the speaker can and will skip and bounce around on the table. Even so, there is a limitation to how far music can project. It can fill a living room with background noise for a handful of guests, but won't be able to compete with a lively party. It's loud for the size, but not quite big enough to deliver on a grand scale.
