One of the cool things I saw in the vendor area at the mHealth 2013 Summit was the MedSignals Smart Pill Box by VitalSignals.
The pill box tells you when to take your pills and a whole lot more. Not only is there a reminder alarm, but the display shows important information like how many to take, important information (like take with food) and warnings (like may cause drowsiness).
The device communicates with other medical devices, like blood…
Office Depot is one of those places where you don't necessarily expect your mind to be blown by technology. The name conjures up images of binders, staplers, pens, office furniture. Today, however, the company announced that it just might be the coolest hangout at the shopping center for tech enthusiasts.
That's because Office Depot is now expanding its "in-store 3D printing customer experience" to 150 stores in eight states. Its partner in this endeavor is 3D Systems and its Cube 3D printing system.
These are just demos, and they're conducted by store associates, but they're worth a look if you're in the neighborhood. You can purchase 3D Systems' Cube ($1,299) or CubeX ($2,499) 3d printing system from Office Depot's web site.
Watch what might be in store for you right here:
Here are the stores that will feature 3D printing demos.

Last week, 2 million Facebook, Google, and Twitter passwords were stolen by hackers. Such stories seem to pop up every other month or so, which leads to the question of personal and account security. Passwords, even the stronger ones, are quickly becoming ill-effective for security and protection.
There are a number of password manager solutions available, but most of them still can't get away from the whole "password" aspect. However, one company is looking to change that on a…
Earlier this year, Nokia unveiled the Nokia Camera app, which combines the features of Nokia Pro Cam and Smart Camera app, giving users access to more imaging and video shooting modes compared to the default Windows Phone camera.
Previously, the software was only available for a number of high-end Lumia devices with PureView-branded camera technology such as…
When I was a kid, a local TV station's weather report on Christmas Eve used to show a primitive radar screen that tracked Santa's sleigh. That broadcast report was eagerly anticipated by me and my little friends.
Nowadays things are a lot less quaint and a lot more technologically advanced….
Microsoft is reportedly working on a newer version of its operating system known as Windows Phone 8.1 to most of us. According to a new report from The Verge, the upcoming Windows Phone 8.1 will come with a notification center and a personal assistant similar to Google Now and Siri. Microsoft is currently testing the update internally, and plans to reveal it at the Build Developer Conference in April…
As you probably heard EVERYWHERE, Google has acquired Boston Dynamics, a company that has been developing fast, animal-like robots in relationship to the U.S. military. I know, scary stuff. Of course this is not the first we've heard about Google and robots. Google has purchased seven robotics firms over the past six months leading many to believe we're on the eve of a "robot revolution." And of course Amazon has been talking about their delivery drones, so it's safe to say the times they are a changing!
However, one thing that remains consistent is people taking their amazement to…
It may not be fully flexible, but it does bend up to a point and so it's definitely the start of a fresh fad. Maybe the beginning of a whole new mobile tech era. Best of all, it's available now in a handful of Asian countries, being ready to take over the entire world in a couple of months or so.
Quad-core or octa-core processors, massive Full HD panels and OIS cameras are groundbreaking and all, but I'm pretty certain there are tech-savvy individuals among you that care a whole lot more about another tidbit when deciding what smartphone to purchase: battery life.
It's true, most high-end slabs of silicon nowadays have their tickers kick the bucket once every 12, 16 or at best 20…
Semiconductor connectivity manufacturer Silicon Image has announced what it calls the industry's first 4K Ultra HD MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link) 3.0 solution.
What's MHL? It's a connectivity standard that enables HD and 4K video and gaming content on a mobile device to play on a large screen display. Bonus: MHL charges the mobile device. And it's all done via…
