Behold The World's First Tegra 4-Powered Smartphone: ZTE U988S

ZTE-U988SAvoided by many traditional Nvidia partners due to being a little on the expensive side and not much zippier than Qualcomm's Snapdragon 800, the Tegra 4 chip should still find its way inside a handful of Android devices by the end of 2013.

GadgetTell Review: Lenmar Helix 11,000mAh Battery Pack

Lenmar Helix LogoWith summer in full swing, the desire to get out of the house and find fun, relaxing places to spend time only intensifies with the weather. With cold drinks and smartphones in hand, we typically share these experiences with friends and family as life happens.

But the biggest problem with mobile devices and all-day excursions is that batteries simply can't keep up with our rate of consumption. A day at the beach spent blasting music through Pandora, taking photos and video, and reading e-books in the shade, drains smartphones and speakers down until they're dead dead dead.

And it's not even close to dusk, when the party really begins. Dead parties? Only on Halloween.

We introduced Lenmar's "Undead Power" campaign earlier in the year. I was taken with the whole concept behind the marketing, that I went ahead and acquired my own Lenmar Helix 11,000mAh external battery pack.

For one who is often on-the-go, it was the best solution for me to keep my gadgets charged.

Lenmar Helix ports & LED lights

The Lenmar Helix may not look flashy, but the overall design, with rounded corners, impresses a sense of style and quality. It's flat and not a smudge-magnet, which I appreciate greatly.

It has a soft, black rubberized surface with a belt of silver in…

Do Tablets Really Need Expandable Storage?

micro-sd cardcNet published a round-up on Friday of their top tablets with expandable storage. I read it, and, while glad to see them recommending a Nook HD+, I was underwhelmed by their selection. Which made me wonder. How necessary is expandable storage anyway?

Surface tablets were first on their list, which was ironic. Windows RT gobbles up so much internal storage that expanded memory is not really an option. It's more of a requirement. The other…

myType Keyboard, Desktop Feel That Fits in Pockets

Laptops are quickly appearing to be passe, while smartphones and tablets are skyrocketing in popularity and use. The ability to pull portable devices from pockets and bags, in order to work or entertain, is invaluable.

myType Keyboard foldedOne notable setback for smartphones and tablets is the lack of a physical keyboard. True, there are some cases that incorporate built-in keyboards for tablets, but they're typically for tablets don't…
