Basically, uTest has created Applause, a site where you can type in the name of an app and get its score. It ranks both Android and iOS apps and even attempts to quantify which version is best, when there's a version for both platforms.

GadgeTell Review: OGIO Renegade RSS Backpack

When you're addicted to gadgets, you need something that will not only carry them all, but also assure the  safety of your precious. The Renegade RSS backpack from OGIO is a serious piece of equipment at $150 so I gave it a run-through.

The double-secret probation, extra-protected area is the RSS (Reactive Suspension System) laptop sleeve. This pocket is tight, and every side is tough reinforced material. This pocket is a full-length neoprene sling that provides shock absorption, and should fit up to 17-inch laptops.

In front of the RSS sleeve, there is a pretty large…

With the New BlackBerry Z10 Comes New BlackBerry OS: An Overview of Four Most Important Apps

Is this the year of the BlackBerry? Somewhat ousted from the gadget world in recent times, the 'other-other' smartphone company has just demanded the public's attention in a huge way. We're talking some monumental changes for the company that made your father's first business phone.

Rolling out their new all-touch screen Z10 phone (a departure from their distinctive, physical button formatted typing pad) Wednesday morning, is the first of which appears on BlackBerry's new BB 10 OS. The company's new flagship phone provides an excellent alternative to the industry's leading iPhone or Samsung's Galaxy S devices, featuring an incredible 70,000 apps available at launch and a perpetually-practical interface for many new and old BlackBerry users, business or personal minded.

"Re-designed, Re-engineered, Re-invented," was published on BlackBerry's blog Wednesday, as part of also announcing their losing the company name Research in Motion (RIM,) opting now to officially being known as just 'BlackBerry.'

So in one day, we have a new BB flagship phone that's…

GadgeTell Review: Pocket Informant for iOS vs. Android

As I mentioned in my post on time management apps, I'm a fan of Pocket Informant. I use the app on both my iPad and my Nexus 7. Unfortunately, the app was not created equal on both platforms.

My biggest gripe with the Android version is it's inability to set up my Today screen just the way I like it. As you'll see, the iOS version organizes tasks in an intelligent manner.

I can see what's due today and what are my…
