Starting today, for those of you who are SiriusXM Internet Radio subscribers who listen through the online media player or on an iOS device will now have the ability to choose your favorite episodes from a catalog containing more than 200 shows and 2,000 hours of content. And that also means you can listen to those shows anytime, anywhere. This is made possible by way of the just launched SiriusXM On Demand, an add-on service provided to you as SiriusXM subscriber free of charge. SiriusXM On Demand lets you access the following content: - Recent Shows: Access to more than 200 shows from exclusive talk and entertainment, commercial-free music, comedy, and sports.
- Selections from The Vaults: For the first time, SiriusXM is curating and making selections from its vast audio archives—spanning many years of exclusive shows, specials and series—accessible to listeners.
- Updated content: SiriusXM's On Demand offerings will be updated daily with great selections from its audio entertainment catalog, and the available catalog will be expanded on a regular basis.
- Featured Content: Regularly updated "Featured" section allows subscribers to discover more content, including timely interviews, brand new shows, "pop-up" channels, and seasonal series.
- Easy Navigation: Using a mouse or finger, listeners can scan what's playing or easily find a specific point on many shows.
What’s good about the On Demand service is that programming is said to be presented with minimal commercials for selected shows. While music programming will have no commercials even. Additionally, if your using an iOS device, you will also be able to store selected On Demand shows for a period of time for offline listening. Still eyeing possibly the best Android smartphone but don’t know where to get it from? Well, Amazon Wireless has a Galaxy S III offer that might actually convince you to get the device now. Well, that is of course if you don’t mind getting it with a new plan from Sprint. Amazon has sliced the price of the device on-contract to just $99.99 right now. Sounds like a bargain? Of course it is considering that it was previously priced at $119.99 with the same on-contract deal. It’s like buying an advanced smartphone for the price of a mid-range Android smartphone. Just note that this deal is available for new contracts only. If you have an existing contract with Sprint, you will have to shell out $149.99 to get the device. Sparrow for Mac was acquired by Google back in July, and while we were told that the app would not be getting any new features — it looks like they had one last update to push out. This update applies to Sparrow for Mac (from the Mac App Store). And keep in mind, that latter part is the key here as the regular download-from-the-Sparrow-website version had already received this update. That being said, those who are using the Mac App Store version of Sparrow can now grab version 1.6.3. This version maintains the requirement of OS X 10.6 or later for use and brings the following goodies; - Improved performance when loading huge conversations

GUNNAR Optiks has officially announced their latest in terms of computer eyewear. The model is dubbed Vinyl and they will be available shortly. Well, technically speaking, they are available for purchase as of today, however they are not expected to begin shipping until August 14th. The GUNNAR Optiks Vinyl glasses are priced at $99 and include free shipping. These glasses are being touted as offering “the best of both worlds” — a mix of modern digital lines combined with a vintage silhouette. That fancy sounding bit aside, the Vinyl glasses are said to protect you from the “harmful effects of computer vision syndrome” and while we cannot personally say how well these work — given we often spend the majority of our time in front of a display — we are more than curious. Anyway, the Vinyl glasses are noted as being able to reduce glare, sharpen details, minimize eye fatigue and improve focus. In addition, they are prescription compatible and have an amber tint and ergonomic fit. They say that a picture is worth a 1000 words. And well, if that statement is true we suspect this picture may be worth quite a bit more. What can you say, the above is the first color image that Curiosity has sent of the Martian landscape and what an image it is. According to the details coming from NASA; This view of the landscape to the north of NASA’s Mars rover Curiosity was acquired by the Mars Hand Lens Imager (MAHLI) on the afternoon of the first day after landing. (The team calls this day Sol 1, which is the first Martian day of operations; Sol 1 began on Aug. 6, 2012.)
The image is offering a look at the north wall and rim of Gale Crater. And for those wondering why the image may not be quite as clear as you would have hoped — NASA explains that. The image is murky because the MAHLI’s removable dust cover is apparently coated with dust blown onto the camera during the rover’s terminal descent. Images taken without the dust cover in place are expected during checkout of the robotic arm in coming weeks.
Needless to say, while we are overjoyed to see this image, we cannot wait to see what happens when that dust cover comes off. Simply put, we hope those coming weeks come quickly. And in the meantime, follow that via link below to see the image in larger sizes. Via [NASA]  
We recently saw the Spotify Android app get an update that added free radio play. And well, while there had been a Spotify app available for Android users for some time now, one group had been left out — those rocking the Kindle Fire. That being said, Spotify has just recently come available for download by way of the Amazon Appstore which means Kindle Fire users are no longer left out. The Spotify app will work the same on the Kindle Fire as other mobile devices. That is to say that Kindle Fire users will have access to the millions of songs that Spotify is offering. It looks like the Kindle Fire version of Spotify brings the free radio play, though, for the best use and getting the most — a Spotify Premium subscription will come in handy. New users can get a free trial, but otherwise a premium membership will set you back $10 per month. We have seen plenty of character designed USB flash drives from MIMOCO. Two images of what are believed to be Windows Phone 8 devices from Nokia have recently surfaced online. The images are coming by way of the Chinese blog WP Dang. The images appear to be showing a prototype of an upcoming Nokia handset, one that resembles a Lumia 900. The handset is yellow in color and appears to be sporting a black cover/case in one of the images. Not much else to go on here, you can see just a few icons on the face of the display and in the end — we are not entirely convinced that these are the real deal just yet. Not to mention, these images came with noting in terms of hardware specs. That being said, we are expected Nokia to have something official in terms of WP8 come November. It looks like one Nexus 7 user has recently made a rather big commitment to the device — an in-dash installation. The folks at Sonic Electronix have posted a video of YouTube detailing the in-dash installation of the Nexus 7 tablet in a 2008 Dodge Ram truck. And while they make a good point of the Nexus 7 begin a lower cost alternative to the iPad, we cannot help but think how much nicer this would be if the Nexus 7 had cellular connectivity. That though aside though, the Nexus 7 has been installed in the dash but it can also be removed and taken on the go. Anyway, if nothing else this does give another way of looking at a tablet. We have heard quite a bit about the Nexus 7 since it was announced during Google I/O, and even to some degree about how the tablet went from a discussion in January to mass market a few months later. In fact, we believe that many have heard about the whole four month time frame already. But interestingly enough, Asus seems to have been willing to offer a bit more. Recently they spoke with Forbes and covered a bit more in detail. But first, the back story — it seems Asus met with Google in January during CES and the production began in May. Some of the points that Asus had to content with — a device with a weight under 340 grams and how the tablet began with a battery life of 8 hours but was released with an official battery life of 9.5 hours. A few other goodies include how the dealt with sound. More specifically, the fact that they designed the placement of the speakers first and then figured out how they would be able to fit in the processor and memory.
