Need to change your number with Sprint? That will soon cost you $15

As of June 10th Sprint will begin charging a $15 fee to change your phone number. The details are official and coming by way of an official Sprint Community forums posting, but before everyone gets super updates about a new fee — rest assured in knowing that this one can be avoided. In fact, the details about how to avoid the $15 Phone Number Change fee are being offered by Sprint.

Simply put, if you need to change your Sprint number after June 10th — you will need to do this online in order to avoid the fee. The process seems simple enough, surf on over to www.sprint.com and from there head to the My Preferences tab, click on ‘Change phone number’ and then follow the prompts. Of course, if for some reason you do not want to, or cannot do this yourself — you will then have to call Sprint and speak with a representative and this is when you will be charged the $15.

HTC One V now available with Telus

We had know the release was coming, and well, it looks like Telus has officially listed the HTC One V smartphone. The handset has arrived priced at $29.99 on a three-year agreement with two-year, one-year and no-term options also available. The remaining pricing breaks down as follows;

  • $189.99 — two-year
  • $229.99 — one-year
  • $289.99 — no-term

And while we would probably suggest avoiding the one- and two-year arrangements — the no-term pricing for under $300 seems rather nice. That aside though, the HTC One V is an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich device and sporting hardware features to include a 3.7-inch (480 x 800) WVGA touchscreen, 1GHz processor, 1500 mAh battery, 5GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot and 5 megapixel rear-facing camera with auto-focus, LED flash and 720p HD video recording.

Galaxy S III users with Verizon Wireless and AT&T will not get the 50GB of Dropbox storage

Despite the fact that Samsung had announced that Galaxy S III users would be getting a 50GB Dropbox account for free for two years, it looks like that offer is actually dependent on carrier approval. Simply put, those picking up a Galaxy S III with Verizon Wireless or AT&T will not have that available. The details have since been confirmed on the Dropbox support pages where they break it down as follows;

“Select carriers have opted-out of the promotion on phones otherwise eligible. Unfortunately, AT&T and Verizon are among these carriers not currently participating.”

Otherwise, nothing coming from either of those carriers as to why. Of course, while the 50GB offer is nice, we do have to remind you that is was not a forever offer. In other words, this offer was only valid for two years — at which time you would either have to begin paying or have you account downgraded to the “current amount of free storage space offered to all users with free accounts plus an additional 3 GB of storage space.” And sure, as someone that is getting a Galaxy S III with Verizon, I am a bit disappointed — but at the same time, at least this way I will not have two years to get used to and comfortable using such a large Dropbox.
