Verizon Galaxy Nexus drops to $0.01 with Amazon Wireless and more

Verizon Galaxy Nexus drops to $0.01 with Amazon Wireless

It looks like Amazon Wireless has once again lowered the pricing for the Verizon Wireless capable Galaxy Nexus. The handset has dropped in price and is now down to $0.01. Though, that is only going to be available for certain customers. The one penny pricing applies to new customers as well as those already on a family account looking to add a new line. Basically, you will need to be adding a new line of service with Verizon Wireless in order to get that price. And just to clarify, those new lines of service come with the standard two-year agreements. Those looking to upgrade will have to shell out a bit more, $149.99. Finally, those making the purchase can also expect to get free two-day shipping and some free premium apps. The app offer is described as follows;

“For a limited time, get premium apps free with the purchase of an Android device. Apps must be selected during checkout at time of purchase. Apps selected after purchase are subject to regular price. Available list of free apps is subject to change.”

T-Mobile One S software update (1.84.531.2 710RD) will be arriving over-the-air only

T-Mobile detailed the latest software update for the HTC One S back towards the end of May. And while that update was actually set to begin rolling out yesterday, there is a slight change in how the update will be arriving.

Originally, T-Mobile had noted that the update would be available as a manual download and as an over-the-air update. As of now, it looks like the update is only going to be available over-the-air. Of course, that is the easier method of the two. Not to mention, the one we would have suggested anyway.

Bottom line, if you have an HTC One S with T-Mobile — just sit back and wait for the update notification to arrive on your handset. The process should be completely rolled-out no later than July 7th, which means you may still have some time. And for those wondering, T-Mobile noted that they “cannot expedite how soon we send the OTA to individuals.”

Get Instapaper for iOS for free by visiting a Starbucks this week

If you had been wanting to get the Instapaper app for iOS and have been holding back because of the $4.99 price tag, now maybe the perfect opportunity. You see, Starbucks has their “Free App of the Week” promo where they offer one app per week for free. And well, the app this week is Instapaper.

That means a savings of $4.99. The one catch, you will have to venture into a Starbucks location and pick up one of the free app of the week cards. The cards are usually sitting up front, by the register and that means you will most likely end up buying a coffee at that rate. But hey, we suspect that it probably feel better for some to buy a coffee and get an app for free as opposed to simply buying the app.

Either way, it was noted that “several thousand” promo cards are in circulation so you may not want to wait all that long, especially for those living in an area where the Starbucks is always packed.
