T-Mobile counters the iPhone 4S with the HTC Wildfire S

T-Mobile is the only major U.S. carrier that doesn’t sell any version of the iPhone. When the iPhone 4S was released on Friday, it was met with record sales from both Sprint and AT&T. T-Mobile’s strategy to combat the iPhone prior to release included talking to customers about how its Android phones and prices couldn’t be beat. Now, the carrier is offering the HTC Wildfire S to customers who have stated, and are likely, to leave T-Mobile to get an iPhone 4S. Barnes & Noble welcomes Borders customers with special offers

You may not have known this, but when Borders closed down, Barnes & Noble purchased some of its assets. Among those assets were some trademarks and a complete customer list. The list includes customer purchases and their email addresses. Credit card information was not a part of the sale. If you don’t want B&N to have access to your information, you have the opportunity to opt out by November 2, 2011. That doesn’t mean B&N won’t try its best to convince you to stick around. B&N CEO William Lynch wrote a letter to customers that informs them of their options.…
