Motorola launches a tweaked version of its tablet, calls it XOOM Family Edition

Motorola has sort of tweaked its XOOM tablet, making it more kid-friendly and more useful for the whole family. The Motorola XOOM Family Edition which is basically the same as the previously released XOOM tablet in terms of specs, will be available exclusively from Best Buy. Microsoft is now the official owner of Skype

Finally, Skype has a new owner, it’s Microsoft. Board of directors of both Microsoft and Skype has officially approved the acquisition which was previously announced back on May 10, 2011. Microsoft spent $8.5 billion to acquire Skype. Part of the acquisition agreement states that Microsoft and Skype will remain focused on their shared goal of connecting all people across all devices. In addition, Microsoft and Skype will continue efforts at accelerating the transformation of real-time communications for consumers and since Microsoft is now involved with Skype, even more for enterprise consumers as well. Sprint has had its best day of sales ever thanks to the iPhone 4S. Sprint announced record sales at retail, the web and over the phone. Time Warner selling movies that are still in theaters

Time Warner has began offering its video-on-demand customers access to brand new films on the same day they hit theaters. Starting today, Time Warner is selling pay-per-view access to the film Trespass starring Nicholas Cage and Nicole Kidman for $6.99 .The film is also available in theaters today as well. Time Warner will follow-up this strategy with Marginal Call on October 21. Time Warner is also offering the movie Melancholia right now for its customers. Melancholia isn’t even in theaters yet and won’t be until November 11. Customers can choose to rent the movies in standard definition or high definition.…

Samsung releases its ChatON messaging app in the Android Market

Samsung has released its previously announced ChatON messaging application in the Android Market. ChatON currently supports phones running Android, Bada and Samsung’s feature phones. ChatON will also be coming to BlackBerry and iOS devices in the future. ChatON comes to us shortly after Apple released iOS 5 and iMessage.
