Former FCC chairman has no confidence in AT&T, T-Mobile merger

AT&T's bid to acquire T-Mobile USA has gotten more grim. In response to the United States Department of Justice's antitrust suit to block the merger, former Federal Communications Commission chairman Reed Hundt has drawn his own conclusion. Dish Network to launch streaming movie service

Dish Network supposedly has big plans for its recently acquired Blockbuster brand. A Bloomberg source says that Dish Network is going to reveal a new streaming service in October. The launch of this new service will occur during a time when Netflix is vulnerable due to the negative response iit received after raising prices for its DVD and streaming combo plan. Back in July, Blockbuster immediately capitalized on the Netflix price hike by offering new customers membership to Blockbuster Total Access for $9.99 a month. HP has promised that it might be more TouchPads to market soon, but it looks like we’ll have to wait a little while.
