Woot offers $100 back on TouchPads, pray they don't alter the deal any further

Back in the beginning of August Woot offered a discount on the HP TouchPad, which ended up not selling too well. Soon after HP decided to kill the TouchPad, leaving those who bought the tablet a bit burned.  As Woot put it, it left the deal site feeling a bit like Lando Calrissian after Lord Vader altered his deal. To rectify the altered deal Woot is offering help to those TouchPad buyers (you can read the full text in the image above, which came from SlashGear). Those few who bought the tablet have the option to receive a $100 partial…

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 and Galaxy Note not planned for the U.S.

Samsung announced a couple new devices this week. The Samsung Note was the most surprising with its 5.3-inch HD Super AMOLED screen and included S Pen. The Note sits somewhere in between a really big smartphone and a small tablet. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 was also revealed. These two seem like very nice devices, but us in the United States can only gawk at them from afar. We're sad to report that neither of these devices are planned for a United States release. Gotta Be Mobile asked a Samsung representative if the Note or Galaxy Tab 7.7 will come…

Lenovo introduces the inexpensive 7-inch tablet you've been waiting for

Lenovo is adding yet another Android tablet to it’s recently launched line. The newest tablet is the Lenovo IdeaPad A1, an inexpensive 7-inch Android tablet that can go head-to-head against the first Samsung Galaxy Tab. The IdeaPad A1 is a $199 Android tablet that runs Android 2.3 rather than Honeycomb. So it’s not precisely using a tablet-tailored OS, but not many other 7-inch tablets use Honeycomb, either. For the price you get a 1024x600 resolution screen with two points of multitouch powered by a 1 GHz Cortex 8 CPU. Like Lenovo’s other Android tablets you have some customized elements in…

BlackBerry PlayBook given a price cut with Best Buy

It looks like Best Buy has lowered the pricing on the BlackBerry PlayBook. And while you can save up to $150, keep in mind—this discounting is nothing like the TouchPad fire-sale that we recently saw. That being said, the pricing does appear to be a bit inconsistent. For example, the 16GB and 32GB models come with a $50 savings and the 64GB model comes with a $150 savings—that means that the 32GB and 64GB models both end up priced the same. Bottom line, if you had been considering the purchase of a BlackBerry PlayBook then now seems like a good…

Yesterday, a Sprint document was leaked that confirmed the carrier is going to increase its early termination fee from $200 to $350 on September 9.
